Emraan Hashmi Started Filming Awarapan 2 with Muhurat Shot in Bangkok 

The 2007 released film Awarapan has gone on floors with its sequel in Bangkok. The lead actor of the film Emraan Hashmi and producer Vishesh Bhat has announced the shoot of the film which has started off.

Today marked the first day shoot of the film i.e. September 29th, 2025. For the unversed, the actor on his 46th birthday on March 24 announced the sequel Awarapan 2. He took to his instagram account and wrote Bas mujhe kuch aur der zinda rakhna Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026.

The sequel will star Emraan Hashmi with actress Disha Patani in the lead role. It is directed by Mohit Suri. The prequel starred Shriya Sharan, Mrinalini Sharma and Ashutosh Rana in leading roles. 

Awarapan revolved around a tormented, atheist gangster tasked with watching his boss's Pakistani mistress is reminded of his tragic past love, leading him to betray his boss and sacrifice himself to help the woman escape and gain her freedom.

The sequel will be directed by Nitin Kakkar and penned by Bilal Siddiqui, with Vishesh Bhatt producing under the Vishesh Films banner. Awarapan 2 aims to continue the journey of the character Shivam, combining nostalgic elements from the original with a brand-new storyline. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on April 3, 2026.

Emraan was last seen in Pawan Kalyan's Telugu hit They Call Him OG. The actor played the role of Omkar Vardhaman Mirajkar. The actor also starred in Aryan Khan's Ba***ds of Bollywood as himself. His cameo grabbed limelight and praise from his fans and followers. 

On the work front, Emraan will now be seen in HAQ starring Yami Gautam. The film is based on Shah Bano case and is set to release on November 7th, 2025. Emraan also has Goodachari 2 with Adivi Sesh and Wamiqa Gabbi.

Emraan also has Gunmaster G9 with Genelia Deshmukh, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Singh. It is directed by Aditya Datt. The music is given by Himesh Reshamiyaa. Gunmaster G9 is produced by Deepak and Hunar Mukut under Soham Rockstar Entertainment. The film is expected to release next year in 2026.
